Brian's Testimony
I have been very blessed to be able to grow up in a Christian home. I professed salvation at the age of five in a backyard Bible club where I responded to an invitation for salvation. I remember the teacher talking about heaven and I knew that was where I wanted to go. I went into a house and talked with a leader who showed me that I was a sinner and in need of God's salvation. It was at that time that I asked God to forgive me of my sins and to save me. Several years later, when I was in the fourth grade, I was baptized.
It was not until years later that I gained the assurance of my salvation, while serving as a summer camp counselor at Northland Camp. I settled it once and for all. I learned so much while counseling that first summer that I decided to counsel the following summer and continued doing so for five successive summers. In addition, I also changed my major to Camp Ministries. While serving as a counselor at the Wilds of the Rockies in 2000, the Lord called me into the ministry. He used a combination of preaching, visible work in campers' lives, and extra time spent in the Word and prayer on the weekends. I believe that the Lord is leading me into a lifelong ministry to young people through missions.
MTT Ministries has also been greatly used of the Lord in my life. I had the privilege to travel on the New Zealand team in 2003. The timing of this trip was of the Lord's design. I had been discouraged and ready to give up on full time ministry, but the Lord used this trip in a wonderful way. I am here today because of the work that He did in my life as a result of that trip.
Jennifer's Testimony
Born into a loving Christian home, I was blessed by early exposure to Christ and His love for sinners. At the age of seven I accepted the Lord as my personal Savior in a children's evangelistic meeting held in our church by Mr. Bill Mason. I had the opportunity to attend Bob Jones Elementary School until the sixth grade, when our family moved to Columbia, South Carolina. I finished middle school and high school in the public school system, where my faith was tested and I was able to see several friends come to know my Lord. AWANA was a strong influence in my life, teaching me the importance of memorization of the Scriptures.
As a teenager, I attended several summer camps, which greatly impacted my spiritual growth. It was at one of these camps where I met the Landis family and was challenged to use my talents and time for the Lord. I surrendered my life to the Lord to do whatever it was He had planned for my life. He allowed me to travel to Romania in 1998 with MTT, which opened my eyes to the great needs of others outside of America, and taught me to be extremely grateful to the Lord for His many blessings in my life. After graduating from Bob Jones University with my Nursing degree, I enjoyed a summer working at the Wilds as a camp nurse. Following that summer, I moved to Shanghai, China serving Him as a nursing instructor for two years. We saw the Lord save a number of students, some of which have continued their studies at BJU and are serving Him today.
The summer of 2004, I returned to the States as I felt the Lord leading in a different direction. A week after my return, I met Brian Buckley, a friend of my brother's. It was not long before we began dating, and were married July 8, 2005. We both feel that it was the Lord who brought us together and we plan to serve Christ with our lives. He blessed us with a son, Micah, last April, and is teaching us what it means to be godly parents. It is my continued prayer that the Lord will enable me to be a godly wife, a helper for Brian, and mother as we seek to follow His leading.
